Scott BakerPASTOR EMERITUSPastor Baker served as the pastor of Faith Baptist Church from June 1, 1982 to February 7, 2016. After being saved in 1970, Pastor Baker surrendered to full time ministry and attended Bible College at Fellowship Baptist College in Peoria, Illinois. In 1987, Faith Baptist School was established under his leadership to provide a Bible-based, quality education and to assist families in training their children to be worthy representatives of Jesus Christ. Over the last thirty-four years many lives have been touched, many souls have been saved, and many Christian servants have been called and sent forth into the Gospel ministry. On January 31, 2016 the church voted on and elected Rick Koonce to be the new pastor of FBC. On February 7, 2016 Pastor Baker transitioned the leadership of the church to Pastor Koonce and was bestowed the title "Pastor Emeritus" for his faithful service. Pastor Baker is still serving the Lord faithfully here as a beloved and trusted advisor, counselor, and teacher.
Rick Koonce grew up attending Bible Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was saved as a 12-year-old boy while he was at camp. In 1992, he surrendered to God’s call to preach. While attending Crown College of the Bible, he was able to serve at an internship under Evertie Moore in Booneville, Kentucky. After graduation, he became assistant pastor in Mapleton, Illinois where he was ordained under Pastor Claud Slate. Before coming to serve with Pastor Scott Baker at Faith Baptist Church in 2015, he served at Mid-America Baptist Church and Val Verde Baptist Church for a total of 12 years as pastor. He and his wife, Kristi, were married in 1998. They have five children: Rebekah, Josiah, Hudson, Jackson, and Sadie. Pastor Koonce became the senior pastor of Faith Baptist Church on February 7, 2016.
Peter Touchstone grew up in a military family. His father retired from the Air Force in 1995 and moved to Louisville, Kentucky. His family attended Shawnee Baptist Church where Peter was able to attend Christian school. He graduated from Shawnee Baptist College in December of 2012. While attending college, Peter was brought on staff at Shawnee Baptist Church in August of 2011. He served there in a variety of positions for five years. Peter moved to Belleville, IL in January of 2017 and became the youth pastor of Faith Baptist Church on August 7, 2017. He was married to Megan on November 7, 2014. They have a boy named Owen and are expecting a girl in January.
